Head to www.worldofwarcraft.com and then Fileplanet

Can't wait to get home...looks like there will be no sleep tonight

Also, if someone gets it from Fileplanet, could it be made available to us as Fileplanet might suffer some type of performance hit tonight? Ideas?

Fileplanet.com users get an early sneak peak.

The rest of us will have to wait until later this week.

As for me, I'll be playing on my brothers old beta account, hehe! :D

The stress test has begun, but only for Fileplanet subscribers. I knew that thing would come in handy someday.

Blizzard Announces World of Warcraft Final Stress Test - Helcon on 11/01/04
In preparation for the upcoming free open beta test, Blizzard will be conducting a final stress test for World of Warcraft. Starting today, November 1, at 1:00 PM PST, players who would like to get a sneak peek of the game prior to the free open beta test will be able to visit FilePlanet, sign up for the final stress test, download the game client, and begin playing. In addition to helping us further test World of Warcraft's server infrastructure under heavy loads, final stress test participants will automatically have their free open beta test slots reserved, and their account and characters will transfer over to the free open beta test seamlessly! For more information, please check out our final stress test FAQ and free open beta test FAQ.
Please note that a subscription to FilePlanet is required in order to join the final stress test. For those who wish to wait until the free open beta starts to join in, we will be releasing information about signups for that in the week ahead. The exact duration of the final stress test has not yet been determined; however, the free open beta test will begin shortly after the final stress test is brought to a close. Please stay tuned to WorldofWarcraft.com for more information.

--NOTE TO CLOSED BETA TESTERS--
World of Warcraft closed beta test participants are already qualified to enter the final stress test. The final stress test client is NOW available for download by testers at WorldofWarcraft.com. Please note that your account and characters are still available and ready to continue where they left off! Also note that the client that you download will NOT be noticeably different from the last version of the beta that you played. In the days ahead, we will provide a patch that will update everyone's game client with the features, such as Paladin and Hunter talents and racial traits for all races, that you've been waiting for.

Aw man. What a great business move on Blizzards part but I feel tricked. I thought open beta was going to start and not a final stress test. Also on the fileplanet website it says the final stress test is a week long

Why am I even considering forking over USD$16 to beta test a game that I'll have to pay USD$50 plus USD$15 per month.

Someone get me a doctor......

....oh wait, I was a doctor in SWG.

Actually you can get it for 8 bucks, just get the basic subscription, you may have to press it a few times to get it though, mine kept saying $16 until the fourth time.

it very well may be worth the cost

But, why not reward us pre-orders too. Aren't we worth something?

or, once they got your money, they don't care?

EDIT: apparently I should have read Daishus's message a bit better

You can still be a doctor in WoW Golga. You can put all of your skillpoints in survival, alchemy, herbalism, and first aid! The two tradeskill max, wouldn't affect you either!

Alchemy and Herbalism are two main tradeskills, and first aid and survival are secondary. So anotherwards, you can have as many secondary as you want.

Come on Golga! You could be a Doctor Gnome, or Dwarf!

I too would have a hard time paying that much for the stress test. But it's pretty damn cool!

I guess I was one of the first people ever to subscribe to fileplanet. This was years ago, but I bought a lifetime subscription for some very reasonable price, maybe $50 or so.

I have a question though, what server should we all be getting on?

You might be the first one on, what are the choices? What did you choose?

I'm not sure what all the choices were. I will check again tonight. I plan on trying as many as I can during the stress test/ open beta.

My first character was a Dwarf Warrior (Fror). I cannot believe how smooth and fast the game runs. I've not felt a second of lag and the graphics are very smooth, as many have said.

I have 3 characters on that server... all around lvl 10-15... an undead warlock (forget the name), night elf hunter (Tracker I think), and Dwarf Paladin (Wilco).

Let me know what your character(s) names are.

I couldn't get through to download the new client from worldofwarcraft.com last night... the site was down. Will try again tonight.

I usually tell her that I have a lot of work to do and if she notices that I'm playing I just tell her I'm taking a break.

She knows I'm giving her a line and I know she knows but it seems to work. :)

As far as I know Talon only subscribers can get in until Open beta starts which should be pretty soon.

Get in file planet (eight bucks), or wait the week till open beta, are the only 2 choices. You could get the client elsewhere but you also need the key which is what file planet will get you.

Despite low-end hotel "broadband," and thanks to FilePlanet's Download Manager I have just 50 or so minutes of downloading before I can install. Regretfully, I have to go teach now... :( But I should be in-game this evening! Woohoo!!
