Here's the vote to decide a name we will use if we decide to create a Horde (second) guild in WoW.

Cast your vote for your first choice, then post you second choice. In case there isn't a vast majority or a tie, we'll have another vote with the top two picks.

I voted for the Acolytes of Avian.

My second choice is the Darkhands of Avian.

I think Acolytes could play and excellent role as it doesn't denote a belief in good or evil. In otherwords, the followers believe they are doing good even if they are considered bad/evil. Also, the term acolytes seems more clericial in nature than encompassing of all classes.

But, I think in terms of gameplay our forces should understand their position. Or at the very least project our standing to the local community.

I say The Discord of Avian. It speaksto the point (of us being Horde) and more memorable. The other just seems like plain vanilla to me :P.

Um, what if we think they all absolutely suck, and would never want to have those names under our Horde char names?

Suggest another name if you'd like, although we've been discussing names for a couple weeks now.

Ditto.

I picked "Discord of Avian" as my first choice.

I'll name "Darkhands of Avian" as my second.

When you enter the business world you will understand that you don't bring problems to people unless you also have a potential solution

Let's hear what you have.

Here's what I have. Let's throw together a charter and become a real guild BEFORE we pick our name for a secondary guild.

/agree. So far all this name commotion done is such an unorganized manner makes me wonder if we can establish, support, and maintain one guild... let alone two. We need to create an organized body to help gather ideas, and decide how they will be offered for the majority to approve. Right now we do not have that with WoW, and all these polls strike me as willy nilly jumping the gun... almost to the point to where if it continues unchecked I will not interested in being apart of it. The task of creating a WoW guild needs order and until it has order it does not deserve the time and energy I am willing to give.

I am not crazy about the names to choose from. Personally I would love to have a Alliance name established, and then spin the Horde name to follow some kind of matching pattern, some sort of matching theme.

Ahem, this is exactly why I said what I said. Apparently no one saw the wisdom in what Cyrus said about building a foundation before we put the roof on?

Arindel, I appreciate you trying to educate me. Good try.

Yeh, no one read what he said. :?

I am glad there is so much excitement, I just want us to channel it toward where we need to start. It's not a new idea, but if it hasn't sunk in then it does need to be said again.

Not a good try at all. Plus, I can only tell you something if you are willing or open to hear things.

I do not see the connection between your statement and Cyrus's statement about building a foundation.

Orbital, I know you have alot of passion for Avian and even your gaming (I imagine this is true for most things that you pursue). But, not alot of the new people will know how to interpret your messages, which frankly come off as fairly negative.

Perhaps, I m not considered a good or even valued member of Avian. Especially, in the light that I have never served in a governmental position. This is due mostly to life situations that reside outside of this forum. Plus, many of my posts are not of a serious nature. This doesn't mean that I don't care abotu the PA or it's future; rather it's a reflection of what I have available to put Avian or how I choose these forums as part recreation.

However, I rarely come off as someone who puts other down for what they believe and I don't try to cause any friction between members. Most of my contributions tend to be made in-game as that is partly where I choose to use my time and (as I said before) where my value can be best utilized with my available time.

As I said, I can see you as a very valuable member to Avian. But, not at a cost where you take something away from the group. If you have some issues to deal with, you can let us know or just not post, but this isn't the type of place you can just unload. Sure you can get away with it every now and then (we all do), but take it easy sometimes.
It's not us against you or some of us against you. We're all here together. Some people you can get to know real well and be friends. Others, you will have to tolerate. But, above all, you must be resepctful in your posts.

Guys, it's just the guild name...

I'm not asking you go all out and swear allegiance or anything.

We're just thinking of names, I think it's kinda exciting.

If you'd like to take charge, please do, I'm just trying to build a little hype and get something done in the mean time.

Heh. Arindel, I see what you're saying. Sorry if I've offended. Usually when I say things like that, I'm not being the least bit serious, but still am kind of. If that makes sense.

It's hard for me to take Avian very seriously now, not because it's a joke, but because I don't want to get so involved in it that it becomes more than what it should be, fun. What vexed me is that apparently there was some time limit for suggesting names? And that the people that were suggesting we take it one step at a time, ie. slower, were being ignored.

Anyhow, I'll try to be funny for more people than just myself from now on. :P

Come on, that's the best you're going to get from me. :D

Now we both know that's not true :D.

I'm not really offended as much as I don't want to see bad things happen to our membership.

And yeah, it is all about fun. Now we take our fun seriously and some people have different ideas of fun (i.e some people really love the government/organizational stuff and some people love trail blazing the way in-game and others like politics  ).

I can know and remember what you are like (which is why I have positive things to say about you). But, not everone can handle a good dose of Orbital and some comments can easily be misconstrued if they don't get a chance to know you.

Guys the CoB, Talon PMed me after chatting with Exar. Both of them wanted this thread locked until we develop some kind of leader position to properly collect voting options and to properly call official votes into order. They have already started working in the BoD to finish up the charter which would allow us WoW guys to choose a leader.

They said brainstorming for names is good and needs to be done, however posts like that need to be labeled and presented so as not to look like an official vote. i.e. so as to not confuse fools like me :D
