I'm in a stick here and want to see if anyone can help out.

There are two files that someone encoded into mpeg4 and the Mac I'm working on cannot open them - Quicktime 7 sucks!

If anyone can open these on a PC please convert them avi wmv or mov files for me. Please try and maintain the quality and size.

http://wiki.digitalbazaar.com//download ... -final.mp4

http://wiki.digitalbazaar.com/download/ ... -final.mp4

these are under the creative commons so altering and editing is allowed. Once converted please PM me and we can figure out how to transfer/upload them.

Thanks

Hmm I'm sure I can find some "freeware"

Actually I can't save the files, I think I need quicktime pro.

This is one of the issues I have with the hardcore FOSS people. They use the pseudo -codecs that 'play' fine, but the portability of that codec sucks.

I'm heading into work. If I cannot transcode it there then nothing on gods green earth will be able to.

Thanks for your help everyone.

I think I can open them.
But it'll have to wait. At school...

Well...
I can't read them... yet.
Still trying to find the right codec plus the tweaking without ruining my other tweaks.

But I'm glad that Flyoc taking care of it...

sweet, thanks!
It's funny. I have thousands of dollars of video gear at my disposal and I cannot even open and convert what should be a very standard codec. Apple has really screwed us on this one. There are over 2000 posts made on the support forum about Quicktime 7 and how it has all but bollixed the entire video industry in one fail swoop.
