Created an account last night but I couldn't even get through the tutorial before I had to log.

Look me up if you get a chance... that or I'll look you up when I figure out how...

Question: Is there a way to rerun the tutorial? I had to quit it and want to start it back up when I get back in.

When you pull up the menu (Esc I think), there are options to reset different bits of the tutorial.

I might try it again this weekend. I've given it a couple tries, but never got through the tutorial. I had too many other distractions at the time and was still enjoying WoW, so I just couldn't get the "buy-in" needed for another massive game like Eve. But from everyone's stories of life as a pirate, a merchant, and in a business, it sounds very fun.

Plus now I've got the super PC and nothing to play :)

You can go back into the tutorial, it should be a button at the lower left corner of the screen.

The only problem is it doesn't take you back where you were, you have to kind of remember where you stopped and then restart that section. (You can't rejump back in half way of a section AFAIK.

Good luck and welcome to EVE, we hope you at least set a skill to training before you logged ;)

Your welcome and he's learning ;)

BTW others may NOT agree but I felt going thru the whole tutorial for a n00b was invaluable. I know your in game time is limited right now, but the tutorial is worth it.

I totally agree. The tutorial is invalueable. I did the whole thing and without it I think I woudl have been lost.

Join the TCO-public channel so you can chat with everyone.

I suggest you do the tutorial then just muck about with missions for a while. It does take a while even find out what it is you want to do ingame. Missions offer a nice way to explore the game with reasonable safety. Delivery missions, mining missions and combat missions are all available.

OK thanks, I will join that channel when I finish the tutorial. Missions sound like a good idea to start... I will probably go wherever I am told to go so I don't get lost... that map is intimidating.

after the tutorial is the wierd part. Once it ends you are just kind of left there. It doesn't 'tell' you to go or do anything. the world, as they say, is your oyster.

Good for you, amke sure you are ALWAYS training a skill, downtime=bad, then when you can log in start doing missions or do some mining or whatever to start getting a feeling for the game.

HiSec .9-1.0, I have not seen a rat yet.

high sec .5 to .8, I believe is where you start getting rats.

.1 to .4 starts to get scarry, and

0.0 is the wild west.

Im still getting the hang of operating in lo sec space and Ive been playing for 6 weeks.

Good luck and have fun :)

And for everyone else it was fun talking to the TCO folks last night about Dead Parrots ;)

Thanks to Ravage and Golga for showing me the ropes yesterday. I've got a good handle on training and outfitting frigates, and made it over to Mirilene (sp?) Naval Academy for some missions.

Now I need to go dig up some mining guides.

I really like that I can make progress by training when I am offline. For someone like me who only has 15 minutes of computer time on most days I can still get stuff done in that amount of time, and it will make my experience better the next time I am able to sit down and play for a couple hours.

This game is different, and there's a lot to it... so far I am liking the sand in this sandbox.

I vote for this as the understatement of the week.

The vastness of this game litterally amaze me, and I have just touched a tiny bit of it..........
