Expanded Ship Storage Bonus With Purchase of Star Wars Galaxies™: Episode III Rage of the Wookiees™ Digital Download Expansion

Players who purchase the new digital download expansion, Rage of the Wookiees, will receive an additional bonus offer - 3 additional ship storage slots in their Data Pad. The new expansion features several awesome new ships including the Jedi Starfighter II, the Imperial Guard TIE Interceptor and the ARC 170. The ability to own and command so many new ships led us to think about adding additional ship storage as another exclusive benefit of the Digital Download. “Players who purchase the ROW expansion are going to have a lot of fun in space” said Dallas Dickinson, Producer for the expansion, referring to both the new space mining adventures and the new ships. “Now, with the bonus of the additional ship storage slots they will have adequate parking space, too!”

If WoW made it to where only a select few could get more bank slots.... I would be pissed. Isn't this what SWG is doing?

I would think that data pad slots would be avalable to all.

Two questions:

One:
How many slot are there currently?

Two:
Don't you think that the extra slots will be avalible for everyone after sometime?

Remember, that this is a way of selling the stuff. If they keep it that way the players would flood SOE with complaints in the end.

I think the thing is that you get different perks depending on the method you get the expansion. Some get get JtL for free, while others get access to more vehicles, thus they are at a disadvantage when it comes to datapad space.

If this is the case I understand why they think it is a good idea. However I think it is a poor business model designed to make players crave stuff, and the only way to get the stuff is to buy the product before any reviews are out.

It is just about the same as when a movie is not released to the critics a week before release… usually when a movie does this it is a case where the movie sucks and the movie wants to grab all the money it can on the first week before the world knows the movie sucks and ticket sells plummet the second week. Games can do these trickery better than movies by offering stuff to lure players in.

Players that do due diligence will miss out. That is their whole model.

Everyone gets JTL free with RotW. AFAIK you can only get to Kashyyyk via space.
The reason for the extra ship slots is becuase there are about 8 new ship models with the expansion.

What's stupid is that they don't make these perks avaliable to everyone else after, say, six months.

Due to popular demand from players, the 3 additional ship storage slots bonus offer will be extended to include purchase of the new retail box, The Total Experience, hitting stores May 26th.

The Total Experience is a compilation pack containing the award-winning original game, An Empire Divided™, the space expansion, Jump To Lightspeed™ and the new expansion, Rage of the Wookiees™, tied to the Episode III: Revenge of the Sith™ movie.

The Rage of the Wookiees expansion features several awesome new ships including the Jedi Starfighter II, the Imperial Guard TIE Interceptor and the ARC 170. The expansion also features over 100 story-driven hand-crafted missions including several exciting space challenges, a new space mining adventure system and the introduction of the first instanced space dungeon – with multiple mid-to-high level dungeon quests. If you enjoy the space aspect of the game and can see yourself in the pilot seat of the new Jedi Starfighter II or ARC 170 this is your game – there is also a new multi-player mining ship that is really fun with a group. But, watch out for greedy pirates!
