Post subject: | PvP Warrior Build |
So... My warrior is level 41 now. I'm on the PvP server. I'm fully speced Protection. I'm not really sure that's a good idea anymore. We run instances once a week or so, but I'd like to be much more effective in the BG's. But, not completely give up the main tank concept. Any suggestions on a build? |

I'm running mostly arms build...as far as being fully prot spec'd, it doesn't seem necessary unless you are going to be the main tank in some of the end game instances. The last few levels i've been spending on protection though, as i'm mostly going after the 10% extra armor bonus. As long as i have a decent healer with me on the 5 man instances I do fine as a tank. I expect when I join in on the larger raids, i'll be side tank or dps as there are a few other warriors who are better armored and protection spec'd already. I've filled out the arms tree alot, fully extending my sunders, rends, shouts and stuff, and I'm able to add bonuses to the weapons I choose to use alot. As far as BG's though, i'm pretty much fodder, unless i have a healer helping me, or extra dps assistance to take down foes. 1 vs 1's suck seem to suck as far as a warrior goes. We'll see how that changes when / if i get better armor and maybe a good weapon to slap nice enchant on. |

Warriors can tank just fine without points in protection. As Crod says, most of those talents are for the end game tanks. Plus, that's gotta slow your grind way down too. Get a good shield and one hander and you'll be fine to tank. |

But your performance in the BGs will probably suffer with a prot. spec and I would hate to grind with it. |

Being a good tank is more to do with gears and skills rather than spec. The first guild to ever down Nef on any server had their MT as a MS warrior. If you want, you can just put 15 points into Prot, and they will be good enough for pretty much anything you want to tank. As for a PvP build.. this one is pretty standard MS build: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla ... 0000000000 If you're worried about tanking, then you might want 15 points in Prot, like this: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla ... 0100000000 I didn't mention any Fury builds because I don't think it's viable in PvP until you get the good gears at lvl 60. |
