My wife does cool pumpkins like those. Impressed the hell out of me the first year we were married. I had been working in Ohio for a few months straight. I got a chance to come home for a week and it was my first look of our new house unpacked and lived in. She had the house all decorated and it was amazing to see pumpkins like that. It felt like my house was out of a magazine. What they do to make the pumpkins look cool like that is they print out a picture, pin it to the pumpkin, then poke little holes tracing all the lines of the picture. Next they get these little knives and saws and stark carving out the image. It looks like crap for the longest time…. Sometimes it looks like crap when they are finished and not light is inside… but when they light it up the image appears and it is really cool. When I was a kid all we did was cut a crooked smile in them and call it a night. |

wow. total sweetness! 
I carved a couple about a week and a half ago...but they're all rotted to hell now...kinda sad. but mine were nowhere near as cool as those masterpieces...makes me wanna have a go at that.

I carved a nice raven standing on a skull (took pics hopefully can post later) but no where near this quality. I now have something to aim for next year. Those multi layers of shading are incredible. |
