From the blizzard newsletter I got a while ago.

I dunno, but I'm definitely going to be keeping track....though I do have ALOT of work to do this week, and next week, and for the month and a half. I probably won't get much time to play in Open Beta, or play in the game at all really until Christmas comes around, until I have a month off for my college break.

EDIT: it's funny because I was just signing up for the beta and when I pressed submit it took me to the updated page that said there were no more keys. I must have just missed it

Fileplanet ran out of keys. I missed out on that, but a few hours later the WoW site vcame back online and you can DL the client in anticipation of the keys blizzard will give out sooner or later.

I am DLing the client now!

Sorry I meant KB/s not kbps.

I've been d/ling for 2 hours or so now, and I have about 1.6%. I'm looking at 1.5 days at this rate.

Apparently I also need to serve as a file host since I've u/led more than I've d/led. Which is also strange since my d/l rate should be 8 times faster than my upload rate. We got some leechers out there!!

Anyone else notice your internet speed has ground to a halt despite the fact you are WAY below your average transfer rates?

I cant get past step 2.

the page keeps timing out or redirecting me to a session time ended page. May have something to do with this DL grinding things to a hault.... but I have a feeling the site is overloaded.

I have seen the key, and it looks to be a blanket key. If you need it just PM me.

Yeh it is, but there was some code which is different at the bottom of the process screen. Got about as far as you but looks like they shut the sites back down or something.

I was able to create my account just now.

Got a 404 error when I hit the complete button at the end of the last step. It points to a getting started page, so being that my account was created a few steps before, then verified, I think I am good to go.... well as soon as I get the last 50% of the DL.

Get it straight from the Wow Downloader if you need to. Mind you I've been running for 10 hours and have 14% so IF you can actually get FP to start sending it to you, you may be better off.

At my present average of 9.3 KB/s I estimate about 3 days to download the client.

I'll be ready some time late in the evening on the 11th.

This is quite frustrating considering my DSL can easily do 100-120 KB/s.

Any secrets on how you got a good d/l speed? I am shocked how slow it is going. I've turned off all my AV and Firewalls and closed down practically every other application.

I don't think there's much more you can do about it if you have your firewall disabled Golga... whenever I downloaded the Beta clients (twice), it took me at least 24 hours to get all 2.5 gigs of it.
