I'm working on a project that requires formulas for determining AC, ranged DPS, melee DPS and spell DPS. I have essentially no idea how spell damage is calculated but any information you can provide on any of these calculations will be greatly appreciated and you will be credited for your contribution! Thanks!

What I've collected so far:

• AC: a straight total of all armored items
• Ranged DPS:

I saw some formulas in a forum a while back.... I will see if I can remember where they were.

Maybe you could study CosmoUI to see how it calculates your DPS

While I would prefer to not reverse-engineer someone else's work, I downloaded Thottbot, CosmosUI and Allakhazam's WoWReader as a last resort late last night. From what I've been able to decipher, there are no calculations going on there (dunno about Thottbot - his Lua files are compiled AFAIK). These tools are focused on the data collection right from the game rather than processing any of it (which I need to do as well ).

I spent the better part of a couple hours yesterday browsing forums and Googling and came across a couple pieces of intriguing information but nothing I have a lot of confidence in.

I loved that SWG AC calculator.... I think I loved the fact that an Avian made it more than anything else.
