I was just watching the MMO report podcast, where they were interviewing the makers of The Agency. For the first time this game has caught my interest. Have any of you guys been following The Agency? http://theagency.station.sony.com/ |

At this time there is no way to know if /pistolmeleedefence4 will be broke for two years, or if they will employ SOE standard operating procedure and release the game half a year too soon so that the subscriptions fund the last quarter of the games development. However, to be honest, what I saw in the Podcast looked good. I was intrigued and briefly wondered if this game can redeem SOE’s damaged reputation. I tried to get some info from the website, but there is almost nothing there. |

must uninformative game website...ever first thing I noticed was the SOE tag as well looked at it on gamespot...and read a brief preview Graphics look good. Instanced with some large world areas where people gather (ala GW to some extent) (Shooting ranges, Casino and others places) Real-Time Research/actions - if you set something to get down while your offline and it says 2 days...its 48 hours Real Time... other cool gimmicky stuff too numerous to mention. Looks similar to MMOFPS's such as Planetside with perhaps more gadets and what nots. With the emphasis seeming to be on Instanced missions - co-op gameplay and what looked like clan matches/arena style fights I'm not sure where the "MMO" comes in too much (once again ala GW perhaps) and wonder if it will be subscription based similar to other games... [Edit - references to GW = Guild Wars] |

You have to bear in mind that there are two aspects to a game being SOE: SOE backed and SOE made. The former is good/okay and the latter is baaaaaaad! |
