If anyone decides to tryout Horizons, even if only the trial period, let me know and I can assist you if needed.
Whether by offering tips or assistance in leveling, I can be available if online. Contact me here first, or just look for Galem Thawn ingame.

I'm downloading the 14-day trial now. I've read a bit about the game and it has me intrigued enough to check it out.

I'm running Vista and noticed Horizons doesn't support Vista so this may be an exercise in futility but I want to at least give it a shot. Looks like I have about an hour left via te BitTorrent download.

Horizons does not currently have Vista support. It is one of the top priority items being worked on.

SP1 for Vista is supposedly able to run Horizons without a problem.

Being in IT, I'm still running Windows XP and DO NOT look forward to the day that I have to start using Vista in my client's offices.

Yeah, the forced compliance with secure programming practices was more than many programmers could handle.

I started to follow the steps to get Horizons to work under Vista but among the initial steps was to disable UAC and that kinda defeats the core of why one would run the OS.

I wouldn't do they work-around steps. Just wait for SP1.
I'd love to see you there though.

You said it brotha!

I can't tell you how many people call me because they upgraded to Vista and now our Program won't work.

What's worse than having to change your software so it works with Vista?
Having to change your software so it works with Vista and is still backwards compatible to XP.

I've said it once, I've said it twice, I'll say it a million times: Switch to Linux!! And help persuade game developers to go back to making games that are cross-platform compatible (and I don't mean console ports either).

Ubuntu (one of the best distros I've found so far): http://www.ubuntu.com/
