i understand most americans are not dumb, (thats why i said:(im sure there are americans out there that know whats going on in the world) ) but it was more of an excuse to show that video, its more of a people in general can be stupid, theres also one of those videos for the british, and i havent checked for other countrys im also sure they just didnt show the ones that ansered the questions correctly

Well, people in general are ignorant. I think everyone is at a different angle of ignorance to others depending on where they live, their experiences and influences.... Sure, intelligence helps...but it doesn't fix it. |

those things are so low most the time... I never took the SAT but I took the ACT and scored very well...but the Illinois avg is like 20 however we do test 100% of high school students through mandatory state testing of the Prairie State Achievement Test |

They are standardized tests used by colleges to measure "intelligence" or ability in reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, math, and science (logic) East and West Coast tend to like the SAT while central US tends to use ACT ... a lot of schools accept both...just another way to compare candidates besides GPA which tends to be fairly meaningless |

Grade indifference might be a better way to describe it. At least that's what I've come across. I would assume that those of us on this board are all above average, even in a state as smart as Minnesota. |

SAT. ACT. GPA. Guys you're not helping. Even though I know it is a scoring system for test in order to apply for certain schools around the USA and other countries some of us might not entirely know why this is such and how it functions. I'm from Greenland and we just go by the grades. BTW I just score a B at project planning at business school. |

The SAT and ACT are tests that most 16-18 years old students in the US take to basically determine their level of academic achievement. For the most part, colleges use this as a part of their assessment of students for admission into schools. GPA stands for Grade Point Average and really is just and another fancier term for grades. It is far from exact as many states and local education agencies use different formula to determine what is an A or a B and so on. In general, the SAT and ACT and the few other tests out there do a much better job at telling where a student is at knowledge-wise than GPA. |

No. They don't work like that. These test are exremely expensive to develop and they guard the "items", the actual questions they ask, heavily. |

Well did a little research for those of us who doesn't know what ATC and SAT is. Both of them are test used to see is af prospective student eligeble to be accepted to the school. The SAT point system is max 1600 without the written test. Max 2400 with the written test. The written test is a small essay written during 30 minutes. The ATC point system is max 36 points. In SAT there are three categories four with the 30 min test. Math, writing and critical reading. The two latter are of course in english. ATC got four categories, five with optional witten test. Math, English, Reading and Science. This show where either SAT or ATC is predominant test. Hoped it helped others. Info from Wikipedia P.S. Ask me I'd take the ATC. Why? It's cheaper. |

i have a similar map of the US, it shows how people call soft drinks, colourred by county(what would anybody use this map for?) from comparing that map with the one from wikipedia(about the tests)i see that the west/east coast generrally have the same, and the part in between is different oh, and i noticed literacy being spelled wrong, that was obvious, but i couldnt really understand the "special aplies to pets"(still dont know what it actually says) |
