I know we've had a discussion or two on here before about the MOO franchise, but I've recently had some news come to light that brings it back into focus again. As most know (who are familiar with MOO), the third installment of this title sucked horribly. After a fantastic showing in MOO2, the devs found a way to completely botch the third one. But from what I now undersand, the fans of this franchise wouldn't let it die without a fight, and they've taken matters into their own hands. I'm still trying to decipher the extent of what they've done, but to sum it up, the game no longer sucks. They've finished the parts of the game left undone by the dev team, and in many cases, completely reworked the UI. They've even updated the graphics system to run at a higher resolution. Nice! Thanks for that link. Some of those mods sound like they can breath a bit of life back into the game. Some of the bugs in that game really got annoying after awhile. Diplomacy was a waste of time since you could have an ally from the beginning of the game, who is at the highest level of friendship, suddenly call you and declare jihad on you. |
