For those of you still using IE, WAKE UP!! Use Mozilla Firefox. Way better than IE with its own pop up blocker and other features. I haven't had one pop up since I got this.

Firefox is pretty good.
Also Opera (http://www.opera.com) browser has built in pop-up stopper and many of the same features as Firefox.

Personally I use google toolbar http://toolbar.google.com/ (a very handy utility ;)

Yeah.. use Firefox. I've been using it for about a year now, and coincidentally it was an Avian who introduced me to it. I love it.

God, this is starting to sound like either an AA meeting or an advertising campaign.

I LOOOOVE FireFox! I have been using it for a long time now. I don't even have IE installed anymore.
FF is the best browser I have ever used. I love it's Tabs and pop up blocker and it keeps a lot of spyware out as more of Spyware looks for IE.

I use MyIE2, a browser based on the IE engine, and I find it pretty good.

I use MyIE2

its got all the usual jazz

popup blocker
tabs
..

but one cool thing i havnt noticed in Firefox (but i havnt looked yet)

is mouse gestures.

basically hold right button and move mouse left to "go back" or right to "go forward" or up + down to "refresh" .... pretty cool huh.

i use it all the time and get frustrated when i get a plain old vanilla browser with no gestures....

Depends on your mouse. I have an IntelliMouse that will do it with any browser :)

Here's a big thank-you for the recommendation of Firefox! Fast, filled with useful conventions and shortcuts...and don't get me started on the praises for tabs! hehe Anyway, consider me an ex-IE! :D

yeah Tabs are amazing! The only thing is you need to keep IE around for the random Web-function that only works in IE; like signing up for Beta.

Ah ha! Found them! Actually, they're an extension I downloaded (chose from a selection of 3 or 4 options) called All-In-One Gestures.

BTW: What's the Gecko Engine?

Gecko Engine
The Gecko Engine is a HTML rendering engine that converts HTML directives with their associated digital objects into viewable Web pages. It is used in many popular Web browsers, including Netscape and Mozilla.
